- Venture 13 - a consolidation of multiple efforts to help startups
- Economic Development - Full time staff employed by teh own of Cobourg who will assist businesses with economic and demographic information, finding land and buildings, finding assistance programs and providing liaison with town planners. - Downtown Business Improvement Area - Promotes the 250+ businesses located in the Downtown area.
- Cobourg Chamber of Commerce - now renamed as the Central Northumberland Chamber of Commerce. Provides advocacy, networking and group insurance.

- The Town supports its Downtown - it actively supports the Downtown Business Improvement Area (DBIA) Organization

Development
Getting a new development through planning is slow - one source tells me that Cobourg is one of the worst and slowest places to get a new development approved.
Development Dashboard
The dashboard is a very informative online tool that lists all available information. There’s a list of open applications, a pie-chart showing types, a box with Date/Time of Public Meetings & Open Houses and a map showing the location of the projects.

- Community Futures Development Corporation - Provides financial support to new businesses in Northumberland. Federally funded.
- Spark - acts as a consultant to support technology based innovation. Provincially funded. Covers Durham and Northumberland Counties.
- Northumberland Manufacturers' Association - provides manufacturers with education, networking and advocacy
- Business and Entrepreneurship Centre - supplies information and seminars for Northumberland.
