On Monday night, Council approved the preparation of a by-law to amend zoning to permit development at 609 William Street.  Part of the space vacated by Amanda's Restaurant is intended to be converted into a  4,000 sq ft store specializing in the sale and service of new and used sporting goods.  It will be called Play It Again Sports.  This is a franchise with locations all over the U.S. and Canada. (Corrected - John's Junction is still open).

Opening April 2014

John's Junction is still open contrary to my earlier report.  As commented earlier, good food but abysmally slow service with a large group.  Play it Again Sports looks like a store which fills a niche and should be popular in Cobourg.  But it might make the Mall Sports store suffer...
