The owners of All Creatures Great and Small, Theresa Rickerby and Heather Haraldsson-Glennie, will be opening a new store soon at 4 King street West called Spark - Smart Toys for Cool Kids. It’s also billed as an Arts and Crafts supply store. Their facebook page is here.

Also starting up but not yet fully operational is the William Street Beer company who will make beer at 412 William Street. That’s at the northeast corner of William and University – previously a used car dealership - and they plan to renovate the building.

William St BreweryThey are a craft brewery and will sell beer, not beer making kits. They describe it as: We brew exciting beers in small batches, only available in our onsite retail store.

They have a blog here.

Also, unrelated to the headline, Gail Rayment reports that The County Bistro on Cobourg's King Street, is to close. And there is a new take-out operation called Yorkie's Bar-B-Q on Cobourg's Division St. north of the 401 on the west side.  It offers a take-out menu of ribs and also sandwiches with ingredients fresh from their smoker.

Update on Toy store

February 6, 2014

The new store at 4 King St W Spark - Smart Toys for Cool Kids is now open for business.  They have a cross promotion going with the opening of the Lego Movie at the mall. Their facebook page is here.  They don't have a web site.  Is that a new trend?
